Who did these translations?
These translations were done using an advanced form of artificial intelligence called Machine Translation. We are conducting a pilot program with this technology. See below for more information.
What is machine translation?
Machine translation is the use of computer software to translate text from one language to another. In recent years, machine translation technology has improved dramatically, opening the door for more widespread use. We are conducting a pilot project using Amazon’s machine translation product, called Amazon Translate.
While we understand that there may be some translation errors, we do not expect them to be too disruptive and expect the availability of our content to Spanish-speakers will be valuable.
Why is HBP using machine translation?
We are using machine translation as a way to provide content in Spanish to our customers. This project is a pilot and is not intended to replace our professionally translated content. Through this pilot project we expect to learn about machine translation technology, its benefits and drawbacks, user preferences, and will collect customer feedback.
How do I provide feedback?
For feedback on translation quality or questions on machine translation, please email us at email@example.com.
Why isn’t the entire website in Spanish?
This project is a pilot, so as a starting point we are only translating the article contents and not the navigation, audio clips and other ancillary elements of the site. We are interested in your feedback about your experience with the site – please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I purchase this translation and share it with others?
No. We are not storing these translations in our content systems. We do have some professionally translated articles that are available for purchase via our traditional channels.
